Garden Party and Plays
Ginny Baxter, Program Vice President
With respect for the Safer at Home decision, the AAUW
Executive Committee has decided to cancel the April and May
Branch meetings. The April program was to have featured Branch
Member, Alyce LaViolette,
speaking on the topic of domestic
violence. Her background with
“Why Doesn’t She Leave” is of
importance to all. I have asked
Alyce if she would be our
September Branch Meeting
speaker, assuming the coronavirus is behind us.
The May meeting was to be the annual Spring Garden Party at the home of Charlotte Joseph. This event has been re-scheduled to the June 6 Branch meeting date which will include Installation of the 2020-21 Board. A performance by Long Beach City College theater arts students, featuring vignettes of famous American Suffragettes will also be part of that program.
More information about location will be advanced soon. The lunch will be hosted with special regard to keeping our members and guests safe. Please read all emails and look for further details about AAUW activities. Stay well!
