Gawking, Stalking, and Doxxing – Oh My!
Saturday April 7, 2018, Old Ranch Country Club
Gender‐Based Harassment from the Street to the Screen
From catcalls on the street to comments from anonymous internet trolls, gender based harassment permeates both physical and online public space. What does this mean for the ways in which women experience and navigate these spaces? How are women resisting and organizing against harassment? Our April program will explore these topics and more, and imagine a future in which harassment is no longer a daily lived experience.
We are excited to have Dr. Nina M. Flores, Assistant Professor with the Social & Cultural Analysis of Education graduate program at California State University, Long Beach share her research at such a notable time in U.S. social and political discourse. Her writing and research examines issues of gender-based violence and harassment in public spaces, both on the ground and on-line. This year she is proud to be the Chair of the President’s Commission on the Status of Women at CSULB. Connect with Dr. Flores on twitter: @bellhookedme. Join us on Saturday April 7 at the Old Ranch Country Club for program and lunch.
