Branch Award Recipients

Each year our branch recognizes members who have contributed significant service to our branch. The names of the recipients are announced at the June branch meeting.

Connie Inskeep Leadership Award

Connie served as President, or Co-President of the Branch three times (1972-73, 1986-86 and 1995-96). She was an outstanding leader who demonstrated her love for AAUW by serving in leadership positions at the Branch, Interbranch Council and State levels. Her dedication and commitment to AAUW were inspirational to all who knew her.

Following Connie’s death, the branch established the Connie Inskeep Leadership award to honor Connie’s memory. Since 1997, one recipient each year has been selected by a committee of past recipients which reviews nominations from branch members.  Any of the 3 criteria listed below, either solely, or in combination is considered for this award.

  • Demonstrates leadership at the Los Angeles Interbranch Council (LACIC)
  • Demonstrates leadership at the AAUW California or National level

Named Gift Honoree

One Honoree may be selected for every $750 that the branch donates to the AAUW Fund.  Criteria include demonstrating outstanding work in support of branch or state activities that in turn support  the goals of the AAUW Fund and/or AAUW California and do not necessarily fall under the criteria of the Connie Inskeep Leadership Award.  A committee of former Named Gift Honorees selects the recipient(s) which may include recommendations from branch members.

Honorees since 2021 include:  Rebecca Low, Mary Lamo, Tobi Balma, Denise Montoya, George Jackson, Valerie Armstrong and Carol Clanton.
