Branch Transitions to 2017/2018 Year

The American Association of University Women Long Beach Branch’s Installation of Officers was held at Old Ranch Country Club, Seal Beach, California. Frances Rozner installed the 2017-2018 officers: Sharon Westafer and Cacilia Kim, Co-Presidents; Pam Rayburn and Lindsey San Miguel, Program Co-Vice Presidents; Denise Montoya and Carol Smith, Membership Co-Vice-Presidents; Lois Ledger, AAUW Fund/Vice President; Deloris Mayuga, Treasurer; Anne Supple, Secretary and Daphne Ching-Jackson, Investment Vice President. Members enjoyed luncheon of baby mixed greens, grilled chicken breast, mango, papaya, berries, almonds, vinaigrette, and summer fruit tart with vanilla crème Anglaise, coffee, hot and iced tea. Entertainment was provided by the Wilson High School Chorus.
Cacilia Kim, Co-President announced the focus and objectives, aligned to AAUW’s mission, which will guide AAUW Long Beach next year with the theme of “Continuing Our Commitment.” She expressed the leadership and professional experiences will again bring special insight and ideas to the branch. “We are grateful for their teamwork and willingness to carry on another year,” she said.
The AAUW Long Beach branch has been actively involved in the community since 1911. AAUW’s mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research.
